BANGALORE - SRI DODDA GANAPATHI DEVALAYA

This 14 feet by 10 feet imposing Ganapathy icon, going by the name of Dodda Ganapathy, enshrined in a 12th century temple in Basavangudi, Bangalore is no misnomer, viewed from any angle, or measured by any yardstick to be precise. The ever increasing concourse of adorers right from the tattering aged couple down to the tiny tots speak volumes of compassion this Dodda Ganapathy is capable of showering on the deserving. The temple as the word goes is a marvelous contribution of the Pallavas. They adorned this region with numerous sculptural pieces for the adoration and emancipation of the people. Many shrines - some in ruins and a few in unfaded majesty are luring devotees since then.

This Dodda Ganapathy being large in heart and liberal in granting is occupying a covetable place in the hearts of general public since then.
