MAILAM - VINAYAKA TEMPLE 

Mailamalai hill temple has a long legend entwined with the lives of great Muruga bhaktas, and famous as a renowned seat of Siddha purushas, who demonstrated their soul powers and tamed the adamancy of Muruga also. According to legend, Valli and Devasena, the lovely spouses of Muruga took the side of a great 9iddhar add cut Murugan's growing egoism to proper size. Many other episodes occurred here visualise the glory and spiritual eminence of this ancient kshetra. In this Paavana Murugabhuml, there is an excellent small, but significant shrine for Vinayaka. It is the first shrine that greets the bhaktas on reaching the top: It is in the southern side .and lies near another mini-shrine built for Mother Visalakshi. This Vinayaka Mandir is an independent one with regular daily prayers offered with utmost devotional fervor. Devotees too, adore him soulfully and feel fortunate; for, it is so built to forming the first shrine with the most adorable daivam installed. Offering prayers, they move forward to visit Murugan sannidhi. Vinayaka too is blessing the adorers suitably.

It lies near Tindivanam on the Pondicherry Tindivanam bus route of Tan-dl Nadu, accessible by bus.
