This ancient Kerala temple commands grand spectacles of Nature in
bloom, manifested in colourful flowers and eyeful thick green foliage around
the hill. This hill is treated as Swamimalai or
Tiruvoraham. And as Muruga sannidhis are few and far apart, Keralites visit
quite often and offer prayers soulfully. Its natural scenery is another
additional attraction for picnics and holiday camps. This Lord's benignty was
eulogised by Arunagirinathar in songs. And they are inscribed on the walls of a
well-built spacious mandap 'lying in front of the garbha griha. Regular and
periodical festivals are celebrated with great éclat. Due to its vicinity to
Tamilnadu border, Tamilians too visit more often than not and lustily
participate in several festivals.
It
lies between Nagarkoil and Tiruvananthapuram, and can be reached from
Thiruvillaku bus stop by walk.
