Gist : Holding the chains of the cradle, Mother Yasoda sings in melodious tone this lullaby song to lull Balakrishna into sound sleep by rocking it gently and gracefully.

Krishna, my darling boy, you are Achyuta and Mukunda, Paramaananda and Govinda, sleep well my sweetie, sleep well. Joining the lovely home of Nanda, you received services from the charming damsels endowed with moon-like faces and hand some mien. And played games and gimmicks in the home itself evading the duty of grazing the cattle along with mischief-loving urchins. Reclining on the Aadisesha in the midst of milky ocean, you gave refuge to the sages; and born to Vasudeva you turned a cowherd. Relishing the butter, kept safe in the handing pot, you smeared it on the mouth of the daughter-in-law to laying the blame on her leading to quarrels between the household members.

Is it proper to you to go to the cow-herds' houses to drink in potful of ghee to your bellyful and be called by them as haughty naughty boy? The cow-hardesses of Repalle complained to your mother Yasoda of your mischievous paranks played on them that denuded them of their honour. Haven't they demanded your mother of her apology.?

You teased the cow-herds by exchanging their spouses during nights and created hubbub, although you appeared as an innocent kid from dawn to dusk. Come hither my darling Krishna, father of Manmatha to drink in the milk kept in dish. As all the cow-herdesses are complaining of your tricks and pranks, better play games in our house alone.

Lifting the Goavardhan mount, you kept it on your little finger and killing the formidable Kamsa, you ruled the Madurapuri with majestic dignity. O dear Madanagoapaala, the far-famed Annamayya composed many a sweet lullaby to heap auspiciousness on you this day. Sleep well my sweetie sleep well.
