- Narasimha Temple
Bhagawan Narasimha being one among the ten incarnations of Lord Srimannarayana, his kshetras have formed an integral
part of the visit worthy 108 Divya Desams. This ancient shrine dedicated to Lord Narasimha has immense spiritual eminence
and pious devotees have been visiting them over centuries in this area. It is a moderately built Dravidian type of temple
possessing all the parts and has enjoyed royal munificence in several ways. And the Lord, though fierce in His Narakesari
form it extremely merciful to His adorers. And rowing them across the ocean of grief, is his duty first and foremost, if they let
out a mere piteous call, when caught in troubles, as he did in the case of Bala Bhagavathothama - Prahlad. The Mother is
called Tanjainayaki Tayar and popular for her benignity. The temple has two holy Pushkarinis going by the names of Surya
Pushkarini and Sri Rama thirtha. And they have pious background too. Nitynaiamithika puja is offered according to agamic
tenets. Annual festival draw huge crowds. Tirumangai Alwar in ecstatic raptures worshipped the Lord with fine Pasurams.
