Purpose
The sixth in succession of incarnations is Parasurama. He is a
unique phenomenon, standing apart from the
rest of incarnations. And a multi-dimensional personality: a mobile
versatility: a sacred institution, a rare ascetic invested with
myriad splendors. He was the youngest of the five sons of the
impeccable chaste Kenuka and illustrious Jamadagni. one of
the maharshis adorning the Saptharishi mandlal. And born to cut w
,ire the imperial kshatriyas, outgrowing their statures,
exercising autocratic power, and established dictatorship of type
contemptuous. He is a compound of opposites and
divergent traits. A queer mixture of intense extreme seemed to have
manifested themselves in his mental make up and
functional attitudes. He inherited from his mother Renuka-rajasik
disposition and from father Satwik qualities. He is ferocious
and solicitous at the same time. Intensity in its fiercest state
permeated is whole make up. Trails such as filial piety,
retaliatory ferocity. humane religiocity, unyielding tenacity formed
the ingredients of his bodily constitution and mental
texture. With such contraries overflowing his nature. he left behind
a sensational saga that has neither superiors. nor oven
peers. He imparted a Midas touch to whatever ho held clear and
applied his hand. To quote few he stamped out the
ebullient kshatric power and conquered the whole of Bharat only to
gift it away to Kasyap maharishi. by a mere threat, he
wrested from the Sea-god thousands of Yojans of land and filled it
with temples for gods and goddess of all denominations.
He installed the codified the age-old traditions and appointed
highly learned personnel fur carrying on prayer services and
implementing his injunctions. All ended in creating an absolutely
new state pulsating with lice exhibiting intellectual eminence
and spiritual primacy of exemplary nature. Even if thousands of
temples with only one foot distance among them are
constructed and adoration round the clock is offered to his gigantic
icons installed by the gods, it appears only a millionth
fraction of gratitude shown to him says a pious priest.
Haven't these trails enough to set him apart from the rest of
incarnations? Shouldn't he be deemed the exemplar of
exemplars exemplifying the exemplary excellences in head and heart?
Particularly. soul, since. Kerala, the land anointed
with a rare kind of devotion is his immortal creation: though. every
inch of it turned into a gold mine at his alchemic touch; his
posterity certainly has not proved worthy of his intellectual
brilliance or spiritual eminence by building at least one temple for
hint. Would it ever repay the indebtedness growing fast to out beat
the Mount Everest? No sighs! But Maharastra, the land
soaked in abhangas has built, though not a fitting one. it is
drawing bhaklas round the year. Ironically- it was built by a
Muslim lady devotee Hats off to that alien! And she made Hindus hang
down their heads. Let us first visit first and learn the
origin.
