| Ours is a very old
country. Our country is like a mother to us all. We call her, therefore,
Bharata-Mata. We must worship her as a goddess. The Himalayas are her crown. Kashmir is
her forehead. Western and Eastern India are her arms. The Western and Eastern ghats are
her legs. The rivers Narmada and Tapti are her
gridle.The Malaya Mountain is her foot rest. The oceans wash her feet.The great rivers
Ganga, Yamuna and others are the milk flowing from her breast. |
