In her new mood
Goda did a strange thing. Before her father took the garland to the temple, she wore it
herself and looked into the mirror whether she was fit enough for the Lord. Her father did not know it at all and, innocent as he was, he took every
day the garland once used by Goda to the local
deity.
According to our sastras flowers once used by us should not be
offered to God. It is a sin.
One day Vishnuchitta was startled to find in the garland he was
taking, signs of having been used before.
He asked Goda and she truthfully said she did it every day.
Vishnuchitta was smitten with sorrow that he had done an unforgivable wrong against
God. |
