gave up his post as minister. He went on a pilgrimage. He sang songs in praise of the gods
in the temples he visited. The hymns of Vaadavoorar are very sweet and melodious. God liked them much. So he gave him the nime "Manikka Vachakar." It means one whose songs are like gems. MEANINGS 1. Saint - Holy man. 2. Nakshatra - Star. 3. Excellent - Fine. 4. Howling - Crying. 5. Ruby - A red gem. 6. Hymns - Poems, in honour of god. |
