"Our King wants you to go away from this lake, because You elephants kill the hares by stepping on them when you come here for drinking water!"

"I see!" said the elephant king. "Can I see your Master or the Moon-God"

"O yes; the Moon-God is right now staying below the lake water. You can see Him if you like but if you disturb Him, he will become angry!"

The hare led the elephant king to the waters of the lake. There the full-moon shone brightly in the water.

Seeing it the elephant king said,"Namaste" to the Moon-God in the water. He was satisfied that the Moon-God had sent a messenger.
