Vali would not
listen to him. He caught him by the scruff and threw him out with his bare vest. He also appropriated Ruma, Sugrivas wife, unto himself.
Humbled and crest-fallen, Sugriva took shelter in Rishyamooka hill which was taboo for
Vali, because of a rishis curse.
Along with Sugriva left a few trusted lieutenants of his,
of whom the great Hanuman was one.
It was here that Sugriva had the good fortune to strike a
friendship with Sri Rama and Lakshmana.
With the help of Hanuman, Sugriva made a compact with Rama
to help each other in recovering their wives. |
