| She would bathe
it and clothe it with infinite love and make it lie beside her on a tiger skin when she
slept. She often spoke to it and sang and danced before it. If she thought the idol wore a sad look, she would cry and would soon see a smile on the idol's face. It appeared she read every thought of the idol. In the beginning her people thought it was all childish fancy; but as she continued that practice day in and day out they started getting worried. They rebuked her sometimes when she would start crying. Ultimately they decided to get her married soon, so she would get over that foolish idea. |
