TAKING OFFENSE AT ONE'S RELIGION BEING CRITICIZED
Many Muslims are offended should anyone criticize their religion, particularly if this criticism comes from those who were born Muslims, as the case of Taslima Nasreen in Bangladesh once more brings to light. Nasreen has said that the Koran needs to be thoroughly revised. Later she added that the Koran should be regarded as an historical document only and is now out of date.

Nasreen, if convicted for the crime she has been accused of by the state, will get two years in prison merely for criticizing Islam. A price has also been put on her head by Islamic fundamentalist groups in the country, who are demanding that she be hanged. Not surprisingly she has fled the country, which obviously does not appear to be a safe place for her, or anyone who might question the majority religion of the land.
