ARASAVALLI |

| There is enough of
historical evidence to show that the temple at Arasavalli has been existing from a long
time. 0ne epigraph from an Eastern Kalingaking, which dynasty ruled over Kalinga in an un- broken line from the 4th to the 14thcentury, reveals that Aditya Vishnu Sarman and Bhanu Sarman were brothers, and sons of Narayana, Bhattu who greatly attached to Lord Surya at Arasavalli. There was, are also inscriptions by a General of the king. Srikarana, who had donated five puttis of land to the Sun God, to run a school and a hostel there for the education of pupils studying Sanskrit. This clearly shows that the temple has been in existence from ancient times. |
