The Kalyana mantapa
is an exquisite specimen of the Vijayanagar art and is left unfinished. There is a shrine
of Siva Papanaseswara here, and in the west is the entrance in front of the Rameswaraswamy
shrine. There is another shrine dedicated to Gopalaswamy standing to the north of the Rama
temple. To the south of the main shrine is the huge nagalingam shaded by a great naga with
its base split.Two hundred yards east of the temple is a colossal Nandi, which is the
largest Nandi in India. It is carved out of a monolithic rock, measuring twenty feet in
