A CHINESE TEMPLE |

This Chinese
temple at Achipur is now rather neglected although the Chinese from Calcutta go there on a
pilgrimage particularly in the month of February and offer worship at the temple.
There is a Chinese laver outside and the courtyard with walls is covered with Chinese
inscriptions through which the shrine is approached. There is a metal urn inside the
shrine in which incense sticks are placed and lit up. Near about the temple there is
a site where theyre used to be a bungalow meant previously for the Collector of the
24-Parganas district. The P.W.D. has constructed and Inspection Bungalow at
Achipur.3
