A CHINESE TEMPLE

This Chinese temple at Achipur is now rather neglected although the Chinese from Calcutta go there on a pilgrimage particularly in the month of February and offer worship at the temple.  There is a Chinese laver outside and the courtyard with walls is covered with Chinese inscriptions through which the shrine is approached.  There is a metal urn inside the shrine in which incense sticks are placed and lit up.  Near about the temple there is a site where they’re used to be a bungalow meant previously for the Collector of the 24-Parganas district.  The P.W.D. has constructed and Inspection Bungalow at Achipur.3
