level started rising the fish swam to Manu Maharaj and the boat with the seven sages and
the materials was tied tightly to the horn of the fish.
Instead of swimming towards the sea, the
fish swam towards the Himalayas with the boat.The Great Deluge blew over and the boat
rested high up in the lap of the mighty Himalayas. The seven sages left the boat and went
up the mountains for tapashya (meditation). Manu descended through the slopes. Manu
stopped at a place and started meditation. This place came to be known as Manuwali or
