| Introduction Taliparamba is 25 km. from Cannanore, headquarters of Cannanore
district. A historic place like Calicut or Tellicherry, its neighborhood is
sanctified by three temples -Siva or Rajarajeswara at Taliparamba itself, Sri Krishna at
Trichambaram which is a few furlongs away, and again, Siva or Vaidyanatha at Kanjiragat,
six km. from Taliparamba.
In olden days there was an unwritten rule that pregnant women should visit all the three
temples. It was believed that the Lord of Taliparamba assured that the child born to
the women who worship him will attain a high status, Krishna of Trichambaram endowed the
child with good nature and mental qualities and Kanjiragat Vaidyanatha with long life.
