PEDHE-PARASHURAMA |
|
The
scions of the famous dynasties such as the Purus. the Shibis were protected by their
female folk. Kashyapa immediately found them out and brought them back honourably to their
former capitals and with a great sigh of relief restored power where it legitimately
belonged. Soon everything became normal and peace and harmony prevailed throughout the
land. Back in his ashram, Parashurama resumed his role as a teacher and preacher. As
already mentioned he was more proficient in the trades of war than of peace, in the astra
and shastra vidyas rather than the philosophic and ritualistic aspects of life. Amongst
those who became the disciples of Parashurama were such illustrious persons like
Dronacharya, the famous tutor of the Kauravas and the Pandavas. He learnt from Parashurama
the tricks of the art of archery. Bhishma, another giant of the Bharatiya war, was a pupil
of this very sage. Karna also went there to learn battle-craft. But the great warrior
played a small trick on the old sage that ultimately brought about his ruin.
