| Many Bhaktas, who
devoted their entire life to worship Lord Sattanathar and compose prayers and songs, have
been born in this place. Tirujnana Sambandar, Tirunavukka- rasu, Sundaramurti,
Manickavachakar and Arunagirinathar are well known among them. The temple is under the control of Dharmapura Adheenam. It is situated
in the heart of the town, surrounded by big compound walls with lofty gopurams; on all the
foursides. There are separate temples facing east in the same compound for Lord
Sattanathaswami, Mother Tripura- sundari and Tirujnana Sambandar. Pujas and abhishekams
are offered to the deities’ daily and many festivals are conducted every year. |
