The
leaves, for example fetch fabulous sums, each costing thousands in certain
places. It is Gaya, yes, it is that Gaya, where the ordinary prince Siddhartha
became the Light of Asia and obtained the honorific title of Buddha. It is a
holy spot and centre of pilgrimage of all nationals, since then. And
its inter continental reputation was catapulted only by the hallowed Aswartha
Vriskha. On the Buddha pournami day, the annual festival it lures millions of
people from all corners of the word, and the leaves fallen then are in great
demand. And as the word goes, the visitors collect and sell them in their places
at exorbitant price crossing a four digit figure. It is the case with regard to
Bhuddists settled down in foreign countries. So the Aswartha Vrisha is
demonstrating its inherent divine powers as enunciates by Krishna.
But
in India, particularly at Karpara, belonging to Karanataka, the Aswartha tree is
zealously worshipped for over centuries now. It is, moreover, regarded as the
manifestation of Bhagawan Venkateswara in the beginning, but later treated as
the visible Narasimha in Vriksha rupa. On account of its relieving grief and
tension from the problems gnawing at the vitals of the countless duhkarthis,
there is a steady stream of bhaktas visiting round the year for relief. As it
turned out a sure refuge, the importance of worship to it along with the
archamurti Narasimha is escalating as the years rolled by. Many adorers were benefited
by getting rid of their long-standing and much worrying problems.
Among them, rulers particularly belonging to other faith are forming a
considerable chunk. The case of Adilsha's getting heir to his throne is a
standing example to the point in question. So it is natural that the temple gets
endowments and donations both from the beneficiaries and philanthropists. It has
acquired great reputation as the veritable Bhuloka Kalpavriksha and showering
boons on the ardent bhaktas.
