So
gestures or gesticulations though can not be left as heritages are immensely
useful for expansion of feelings. Some kalatadhakas, particularly dancers,
orators, actors are thriving by putting them to optimum use. The
artistes, like sculptors and painters too have one unique honour for giving
shape to the inner emotions. The sculptors by chiseling or engraving human
figures specially on stone are making gestures immortal, besides producing
instant impact. In the realm of sculptors, gestures. the representations of mans
momentary emotions have achieved far reaching success.
For
this main reason, their longevity outweighs the transitory expressions of man.
Gestures too have a long record of achievements. Take for example the gesture
masterly depicted on the august icon of Pasupathinath of Khatmand. The four
faced Mahadev is quite pleasant and looks extremely charming with his appearance
due to the superb artistry of the sculptor. Every curve is majestic and every
line is so expressive that raises hands at its sight. But, of the four one face
wears a terrific aspect and it appears quite horrible and dreadful looking to
devilish minded people. Cruelty and criminality stand not its ghastly gesture
and they shiver in shoes. A few hardened blood thirsty cannibals too are
mortally afraid to throw a single look at it, leave alone staring at it for a
fleeting second even.
