SIMHACHALAM - NIJARUPA DARSAN OF NARASIMHA SWAMY

With the touch of his imperial hand  the forest became a fair temple town throbbing with devotional activity round the clock. In a word, it was again the Bhuloka Vaikunta of Prahlad's time. As the royal patronage was extended in the form of large endowments and architectural embellishments by the successive rulers of great repute, like Vijayangara Kings and philanthropists, it is retaining its sanctity, nay spreading the Narasimhopasana cult to an astonishing degree by attracting lacs of devotees from the four corners of our Punya Bharat.

Would not this hoary tradition of adorning the archamuti with Chandan that should last for one full long year be labeled strange and exotic? Can anyone call it ridiculous or blasphemous? God's ordinances are as mysterious as His mysterious existence. Paying obeisance and adhering to them strictly alone showers bliss and one should plod on towards that effulgent Paranjyoti to merging his Atmajyoti into it. It is wisdom. Then only the kingdom of god opens its portals with fanfare, says the priest with infinite fervor.

Location : The temple lies in Simhachalam, accessible by four wheelers from Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
