TRISSUR TEMPLE - NANDI - SIVA'S MOUNT AT THE ENTRANCE

This very same temple embodies some more oddities and awe some feature-, like Lord Paramasiva's vehicle Nandi is not at its rightful place opposit to the Sivalinga in front of garbhagriha, but at the entrance - the only one of is kind in Hindu India. There lies a beautiful huge image of Rishabha at the main entrance to the Nalambalam. It is also an object of worship, since it is the Vahana of Lord Siva. Normally the image of the mount of the principal deity is installed straight opposite the Mulavirat. The tradition is common and universal, but here it s s not so. Here the Lord's Vahana is at the main entrance for a background fantastic, and purpose well intentioned.
