LORD CHENNAKESAVA OF BELUR

Even, the celestial sculptor Viswakarma, staring at their ethereal elegance, polish and finish hastens home to work. at home leisurely with his tools to make similar, if not come nearer these master pieces, since the sculptors have thrown a challenge leaving some balank place in prominent places to make similars, or better products, if they can. Neither the past did produce their peers, nor future may likely have their masters. Thanks to the patron, rather soulful obeisance to Ramanuja whose initation of Bittideva materialized this wonder world. Though the inscriptional evidence eludes the grasp, none can dispute the fact that Belur remains as a Vaishnava strong hold since the days of Bittideva. Though the guru ordained Bittideva to build five Vishnu shrines - Pancha Narayanas only three are now breathing life under three distinct names m different places, like Kirti Narayana at Talakadu, Vijaya Narayana at Belur and Vira Narayana at Gadag. Of the three extant, Belur stands supreme and is visited by millions.
