Much
against conscience, the 5doothas hurled the boy Prahlad down
Lo! he fell on a velvet bed of sweet flowers made ere he was down
Would 6Prakriti ever forget the bhaktas of Her 7Purusha
the Almighty?
Bumping out, he ran to his father to prove his statement of Almighty
Flabbergasted demon ordered the instant burning of his defiant son
When thrust into fire, it caressed him as the mother does to her son
Could Fire God burn any 8bhakta anointed with the Lord's devotion?
Beaming with joy, Prahlad sang in praise of Him in mood suppliant.
Unable to stand the sight of his petty foe coming safe straight
He orderd him to be trampled to death by elephant, out of fright.
What a miracle! the elephant knelt, when he was pushed with force
That Gajendra's Progeny placing on his back showed gratitude & its force
Climbing down smiling, he stood before his father burning with rage
Ruthless father bade him be shut in Snake chamber as on act outrage
The snakes forgetting hissing and biting, crept on him kissing all over
Could the progeny Adisesha-Vishnu's couch harm His devotees ever?
When defeat after defeat deflated the demon's mountain size ego
He saw Yama in his own son and began roaring in despair ergo,
Asked he then to show him where that Almighty could be found
To decide vis-a-vis who's greater and where that power is bound
