CHIEF FESTIVALS

15th Dec. to 15th Jan.    - Dhanurmasa special prayers service inclusive of Sankaranthi (Pongal) and Gobbilla festival.

Feb. - March    -    Mahasivaratri - (Rathotsav Teppotsav, Kalyana Mahotsav). It is the major annual festival spreading over 13 days during which many cultural programmes are conducted including Giripradakshina.

May - August    -    Sri Dharmarajaswamy Festival

July - August    -    Sri Kumaraswamy & Sri
Changalvarayaswamy.

Sep. - Oct.    -    Devi Navaratrulu Celebrations take place at the main temple and at Durgamba Hill temple.

Nov. - Dec.       -    Laksha Bilwarchana for Lord Siva and Kumkumarchana for Mother Prasunambika (Rate Rs.30/- each)

Besides these regularly conducted festivals on a grand scale, special pujas are performed in accordance with the tenets of Saivagamas during Masa Sivaratris. Every Friday, the Mother is worshipped with special decoration and elaborate rituals.
