And being the seat of the renowned Vayulinga, one of the Panchabhutalingas, scriptures
eulogised its peerless antiquity, beginning, as it is with Kritayuga down to
Kaliyuga And due to
changing of the colour of linga in each yuga, such as the golden in Kritayuga, silver in
Tretayuga,
metallic in Dwaparayuga and granite in Kaliyuga. Further, it is deemed one among the four sacred
Saiva kshetras, the others being Kasi, Chidambaram and Vridhachalam. And moreover this Vayulinga
is the Pranasthana of immense significance and attained the highest sanctity ever conceivable. So
this mokshapuri is granting Sakshat Siva Sayuja, the highest covetable multi to any devotee at any
time. Would not these meritorious factors investing it with sanctity, divinity and sublimity raise it
to the Everest to excel the unexcelled excellences of any similar kshetra? It is quite natural then
that this thirtha kshetra is drawing an unending streams of pilgrims throughout the
year. The State
Government under the able and efficient guidance of its chief officer is striving every nerve to
maintain and augment its glory in every manner admirable.
