All these seemingly inspiring colourful scenes rolled before my eyes after a week of a 10-day trip to Tamil Nadu taken up in the early January. 

My slumbering proposal to bring out a book on Palani conceived, commenced and even completed a few salient features as far back as in 1992 were ignited by these appeals and reminders and propelled me into instant action. In a fortnight's time, the type script was ready, despite being away from the station twice on urgent work.
