This prakara
contains an inexhaustible treasure in the form of a mini-shrine for sage Bhoga
lying in the south west
corridor. Every pilgrim visits this and pays homage to him as he is responsible
for making the Navapashana image and installation for salvation of mankind.
The
priest narrates that maharshi Bhoga lived some five thousand years before and
his realisation of Murugan glory was quiet tremendous that he embarked upon
introducing the Murugan cult with the building of a modest koil then, in
consultation with his friend Patanjali and siddhars of great eminence of his
day. So the grateful theists thought fit to worship him in this sannidhi with
rituals due, and it is being continued without stop.
