There are
several types of prayer services offered by the devotees to the Mulavar and
everyone is entitled to offer them, irrespective of man-made distinctions. For
every type of seva - Vazhivadu, there is a prescribed fee and the sevarthi
-desiring Bhaktas has to buy tickets from the counter and the sevas are performed
by the priests on production of the token. There is definite procedure and the
authorities with the assistance of efficient and well graded personnel are
helping the visitors in conducting all vazhivadus. Certain items, like Golden
Car Thagaratham requires prior intimation to the officers concerned, but the
ordinary sevas can be offered in the routine way.
Authorities have laid down a
few restrictions for certain sevas in the interest of the devotees, Pike for
abhishekam rose water is supplied at the specified puce by the temple only. And
the flowers used for worship must be scented, but not odorless yet, colourful.
As in many temples, for tonsorial operation and ear-boring ritual are changed.
Sacred bath at the holy Saravana Pongal is also charged.
