TIRU AVANINKUDI

THIRU AVANINKUDI

It is the name of the place of his first stay and the presiding deity is called Kulandai Velayudhaswamy. The temple is just a furlong off the foot of the hill and can be reached by walk. Legends designated it as the third Aarupadai veedus of Muruga.

It is touching the tar road and on its eastern side lies the Saravana Poigai tank. Built in the Dravidian architectural style it has all the essential parts and many mini shrines. The plus point that this shrine proudly claims is its garbha griha built on an elevated plinth. So the devotees avail a grand full view of the Moolvar seated on his mount Mayura.
