This age-old
pilgrim town although reverberating with Harohara and Haramahadev sounds round
the clock indicating the presence of Saivate gods, it is not bereft of
Vaishnavate temples.
There are two reputed Vaishnavate temples in the town
enshrining Vaishnavate gods. They are - Lakshmi Narayan Perumal temple and
Venugopala Perumal temple. They are built in Dravidian architectural design and
are big in size and name. Agamic nithya naimithika prayer services are offered
to the presiding deities with great devotional fervour. Annual functions lure
both Saivate and Vaishnavate devotees in large number.
