VAISHNAVATE TEMPLES

Another Vaishnavate shrine dedicated to Varadaraja - king among the boon givers, one of the forms of Sri Mahavishnu lies 5 km away from the town bus stand reroute to the Kodaikanal.

As it was built by a Naik chieftain belonging to Ahobila, the founder of Balasamudram fort, it is popular as Ahobilam Varadaraja Perumal temple. It is grand and built in the south Indian architectural style. Regular and periodical festivals are celebrated with great religious zeal. A miss-not shrine for every creed.
