TEMPLE COMPLEX:
The
scared shrine enshrining the white linga of Amareswaraswamy, installed in the
august presence of Brihaspathi by Devendra and Bala Chamundika Devi in a
well-built shrine, facing east lies on the bank of river Krishna. It has four
strong high prakaras with four entrances and beautiful towers over them. It is
built in the Dravidian architectural style and the sculptural adornments are
pleasant to sight and enthrall the viewers with its loftiness and superb
craftsmanship. The stone cutters' artistry is discernable in th delicate and
ornate style of carvings on walls and ceililings. They are the best specimens of
art deserving careful attention.
