It has within its campus Navagrahas Aalayam too. This modern well-built temple
is visited by class in particular in large
numbers specially in the evenings and they are offering special prayer services
with commendable austerity. Sivaratri and Navaratri festivals lasting 10 days are celebrated with utmost
favour.
There
are some other Sakti Shrines in the town of both ancient and modern origin at
several places but mention must be made of one in Chintakayala Street by name Sri
Karakamani Gangamma Aalaya built in 17-1-1991, yet another one near the APSRTC
bus stand called Thallappakka Gangamma and a small one at railway gate near
bus stand called Perantallamma merit mention. Not to speak of many more in
several places. And they
are all visited by the locals regularly and continously for over years now.
All
these are situated with in the walkable distance from railway station and bus
stand of Tirupati, the would
pilgrim town of eternal importance.
