TIRUPATHI - KALIAMMA AALAYAM

Another Sakti Aalaya called kaliamma shrine is equally famous and is located in the centre of town near Annamacharya Kala Mandir. It also received renovation recently and it contains the Mother's image in sitting posture flanked by small independent sannidhis for Lord Maheswar to her right and Valli Devayani sametha Subrahmanya to her left. There are many small niches holding the images of Vinayaka, Ayyappa, Kamakshi Amman etc. The Navagrah mandap is ranked very high and the efficacy of worship is realised to such extent that a long queue is seen in the mornings and evenings. Moreover, the Deeparadhana performed by ladies in particular on Tuesdays and Fridays is its star attraction, when ladies congregate and offer prayers to the brass lamps with rituals first and finally to the Mother. It has indeed raised the glory of the temple to the highest pinnacle. Due to its location in the heart of residential and commercial part of the town, visitation by the pious is on the increase. Munificent blessings of the Mother on her devotees is the chief cause of her immense popularity. Behind the shrine, there is an Aswartha tree and images of serpents are installed underneath it. That is another plus point. In a small niche adjacent to it, a mini size linga is enshrined which is luring large number of saivate devotees on Mondays. A mini-shrine for Sun god is also found here. With such several objects of adoration, this Kaliamma temple established a great name for itself in the town.
