TIRUPATHI - ANKALAMMA AALAYAM

The third Sakti temple of great renown in the town lies on the way to Tiruchanur and it is the august seat of Grama Devatha by name Ankalamma, the oldest and well-built shrine in the South Indian architectural style. It has all parts and particularly specious courtyards with many manishrines and Nagadevathas. Daily prayers are offered with great devotion. Its former glory has been eclipsed by a modern and recently built temple lying on the same road at a little distance and is dedicated to Mata Annapurneswari.
