Later she demonstrated many miracles - curing
diseases, fulfilling pious desires; giving children to barren couple, protecting
cattle besides guiding people at all times on supplication through dream
messages. In course of time, at the spot of her burning, a; temple was erected
and daily worship was started. On account of multifarious boons on the adorers,
several kinds of vows and new traditions came into being. Farmers are offering
bags of paddy regularly, when their lands yield bumper harvests,
beneficiaries are redeeming their debt both in cash and kind wit performance of
ritualistic prayer services, offering silk sarees fruits along with auspicious
items, like pasupu, kumkumam; and gifting of cows is a daily occurrence. Among
the offerings pongal takes precedence over others. On the bank of Munneru flowing
near by, one can of see thousands of earthen ovens mad ready for the intending
sevarthis. The number of offerings reach the
climax on festival days. Two annual festivals falling it
the months
of Magha and Palguna are celebrated will, unparalleled devotional favour. And
they last for weeks, when the whole area reverberates with bhajan programmes
that defy description. This registers the power of chastity and rewards for
integrity and
demonstrating that any ordinary common place person too can rise to the height
of divinity and become god head-in our land. That is the uniqueness of our
Santhana Dharma.
It
lies about 10 km. of Jaggayyapet in Krishna District of Andhra Pradesh and is
accessible by four wheelers from Vijayawada, Guntur
