OF MA PAUDI TO BIHAR:
After centuries of her stay to Rameswaram, she decided to move northward
particularly to the Bihar region. Donned in the garb of a vivacious girl. she traveled
to Simhabhumi, the present Singbhum district of Bihbar Maharaja Abhiram
Singh and his Diwan Narahari were advised in a dream to install her in a
special chamber in the place only. They did with utmost veneration. Besides,
they celebrated Jeshta Sukla Chatuthi, the day of her appearance in Saraikella
as the birthday of Ma Paudi. The king was
rewarded very soon his power went on waking like
that of the moon and very many honours were poured over him unsought for.
Above all he was saved miraculously by Mother from the ship wreak, when on a
pilgrimage to Gangs Sagar Circumstancs put his faith trail again. The British
raided the fort of Saraikella with the king of Porahat in the fore front. But
the devout king of Sarikella, Vikram Singh managed to out wit them all by handing
over a fake image to the raiding party. Ah! what a strategy. More exciting was the
venture that came from inside the palace. The Rani of Vikram Singh, tying the real
image to her neck was waiting on the edge of a big well to leap into it for self
immolation, if their pious plan was detected.
