This
is another ancient temple enshrining Mother Kalika Devi, the easily accessible goddess
of immense mass following. The temple was built in the 12th
century and possesses all the essential parts, like prakara, mahadwara,
gopura etc., and with two vast outer halls supported by seven row's of four
pillars each. The construction
besides grandiose reflects the builders
aesthetic refinement In addition it. has a spacious auditorium with an elevated
beautiful dias big enough to stage dramas depicting the multi-dimensional glory of Mother and
other divinities. During the periodical festivals many religious discourses and
music concerts are arranged here and devotees throng invariably to be benefited by them. Regular worship
is offered with unprecedented religious zeal it is a much frequented place of
worslrip in Goa.
It lies 14 km off Mapusa, one of the important towns of Goa, accessible by bus.
