Mohammed
Ghazini, the ruthless iconoclast plundered and
carried its precious stones and glittering gold. Again Firoz Tughlak and finally
Timur looted leaving it in abject desolation. Yet, devout bhaktas and
god-minded philanthropists carried oil renovations and filled its coffers with
the much needed money and jewels. It is a grand temple and a fine
specimen of Nagara style of construction. The outer and inner walls are
intricately carved with exquisite adorable objects. Its tower resembles the
Orissan model and is quite imposing and attractive. It is a much-frequented
temple conducting periodical festivals on a grand scale.
As
it lies at the confluence of Bener and Majhi avers, it has an added spiritual
appeal It lies in the Kangra town and accessible by four wheelers.
