The very mention of Simla. the capital of Himachal Pradesh lying
on the steep slopes of a twelve kilometre long
crescent shaped ridge, poresenting a panoramic view of the snow
capped Himalayas, enthralls the visitors infinitely and propells the listeners
for a visitation. For people living on plains, its eyeful appeal affords an
exhilarating experience and detains them longer than expectation. This lovely
city endowed with Nature's gifts is housing several places of worship for many
deities of Hindu Pantheon. The Tara Devi temple built on a vantage point amidst
spectular scenery lures both theists and tourists alike. It is one of the
much-frequented picnic spots affording a lovely view of the whole Simla town.
This is a modestly built temple commanding streams of devotees throughout the
year. Daily worship is offered with due devotion. The Mother's image adorned with
garlands is quite imposing and raises the hands of visitors instantly.
It
can be reached by four wheelers from bus stand 7 km off the heart of Simla. On
account of its location atop a ridge, covering a part of the distance on foot is
