On the sacred bank of river Yamuna, and just behind the famous Gurudwara,
wherein Guru Govind Singh wrote his immortal work Dassam Granth, lies this
much-hallowed Yamuna temple. It is a superbly constructed temple adorned with
exquisitely carved wall panels and pillars. It reflects the refined taste of
the builders and their devotion to Mother Yamuna, instrumental for slaking the thirst
of parched lands and purging the sins of the bathers. This marble shrine
enshrining Yamunaji is a haven for spiritual peace and aesthetic pleasure. Daily
worship is offered with due devotion. Besides, this is installed in the lovely
garden called Yamuna Bal Park, a big size statue of Goddess Yamuna which is also
raising the hands of theists in veneration. Visitors fail not visiting these two
monuments for profit and pleasure.
It
lies 45 km off Dehradun, one of the premier towns of Himachal Pradesh
by bus.
