Among several places of religious importance around Paonta, Bhadrakali temple
deserves inclusion. It is like many of its counterparts of this region is built
in marble and richly adorned with sculptural pieces of rare craftsmanship.
Bhadrakali being the family deity of many castes including Rajputs, is adored
with great devotional favour. Though wearing fierce aspect and bearing the
awe-some name, she is the favourite goddess lifting people from the unfordable
ocean. Daily worship is offered with due devotion. Yearly festivals lure huge
crowds.
It
is 8 km off Shivapuri, near Paonta, accessible by bus.
