Daulakhan,
lying in the vicinity of Paonta, famous for manufacturing fruit juices and
salads in many of its canning units is housing a famous temple for Katasan Devi.
This was built in commemoration of Raja Jagat Singh's victory over his mighty
enemy Gulam Quadir Rohilla. Being a monument perpetuating the glory of victory,
the patron Jagat Singh endowed it in several ways. It is an imposing shrine with
a spacious courtyards adorned with many pavilions for various adorable deities.
The intricately carved panels and exquisitely sculptured icons detains the
visitors and fill their souls with devotion. Set in nature's eye filling abundant
greenery, its appeal for aesthetes is more, and they visit this temple quite of
ten invariably. And that is the additional cause for its immense popularity. Daily
puja is offered with great devotion due and periodical festivals are
celebrated on a scale betting the status of the patron.
It
lies 20 km off Nahan on the road to Paonta accessible by four wheelers.
