Reputed
as the most ancient Sakti kshetra, this temple has certain uniques that are
responsible for its special attraction and eternal charm. It is believed that
this potent archamurti migrated to this holy kshetra in the dim past and settled
down for ever. Among the special attractions the size of the archamurti deserves
indispensable mention. This holy image of unusual height measures eleven feet
from head to feet and it is made of wood, first and foremost. Its superb
craftsmanship chiselled to perfection casts a spell on the visitors and wrings
veneration at first sight itself. Agamic worship is offered with great fervour.
The periodical festivals like Devi Navaratrotsav Karthikotsav, Vaisakhasuddha
Ashtami Jayantotsav are celebrated with unprecedented pomp and they attract huge
crowds. Daily prayers are offered regularly with due piety.
