Presuming that he could produce some
miracle they obeyed him. And lo! he did not come up even after hours. They
searched for him, but in vain. The awe struck cowherds reported this to the
villagers. To the consternation of the people, they found an ant-hill on the
exact place where he was worshipping Srichakra. Deeming productive of
suspiciousness and a harbinger of. fortune and bliss they started conducting
regular pooja with due rituals. The adorers were reaping happiness and their desires were fulfilled. The same Nair whose cattle were
gazing in
that land built a modest sired temple for Mother Bhagavathi and
kept the Srichakra there for worship. Here it is only the ant-hill is
worshipped with Srichakra, but there is neither an icon nor a framed photo. The
ant - hill is elevated to the position of Mother Bhagavathi. Pure devotion is
conferring manassanti and the Mother is granting boons besides curing several
kinds of incurable diseases, if one offers prayers and bhajan for 41 days. She is
infinitely benevolent to blessing the votaries with health, wealth, knowledge
and the like. And she transcended all barriers, like caste, creed, race etc. Hence
people of all religions are thronging the temple round the year.
It
lies 3 km. off Kulachchal a moderate town in Kerala, accessible by four
wheelers.
