This shrine sacred
has a long legend associated with the world renowned Lord Jagannath temple of
Puri. The goddess, according to local version is related to Lord Jagannath and
the holy log from which the icon of Lord Purushotham is made came from her only.
The temple built in Orissan architectural style with curvilinear tower looks
quite imposing and beckons the visitors at first sight itself. It also houses
the idol of Bhagawati which is worshipped with equal devotional fervour. It has
certain awe-some and eccentric traditions instrumental for its unprecedented
popularity and never flagging enthusiasm.
Daily worship
is offered with several rituals characteristic or Oriyan traditions.
