The temple too acquired some property and it
had rich patnons donated several utensils that were supplied to the needy on
occasions like marriages and special functions. Once a greedy man concealed a few
for his personal use and lied that he returned all. Detecting his fraud and
fearing that this disease contagion would spread to others, the supply of
vessels was stopped. The whole community suffered on account of one criminal.
Yet the extension of worship is neither stopped nor people turned ingrates. On
the other hand, her glory has been creating new records.
The
temple contains mans vast halls and many mini shrines installed with several
high divinities. In the Nat mandir there are imposing idols of Siva and Durga
receiving worship by every visitor. Ironical it appears the presiding deity of
this shrine is a ten-armed Chamundeswari revealing her fierce form. Worship
is offered regularly and the visitation of theists is waning with passage of
time.
It lies on Bindu
Sarovar in Bhuvaneswar, the metropolitan capital of Orissa state, accessible by
four wheelers either from railway station or bus stand.
